Arts Council England

Arts Council England champions, develops and invests in artistic and cultural experiences that enrich people’s lives. We support a range of activities across the arts, museums and libraries – from theatre to digital art, reading to dance, music to literature, and crafts to collections. Great art and culture inspires us, brings us together and teaches us about ourselves and the world around us. In short, it makes life better. Between 2015 and 2018, we plan to invest £1.1 billion of public money from government and an estimated £700 million from the National Lottery to help create these experiences for as many people as possible across the country.

British Underground

In 2017 British Underground is celebrating 16 years curating and producing UK music showcases that have helped hundreds of music-makers break into international markets at events like SXSW, Americanafest, Folk Alliance and British House at the Rio Olympics. Since creating the first ever UK showcase at SXSW in 2002 (featuring Elbow and Oxide and Neutrino) we have worked with artists from every genre including household names like Amy Winehouse and Stormzy to pioneers like Gabriel Prokofiev and Moses Boyd. We offer financial help with travel and accommodation for musicians through our relationship with the PRSF International Showcase Fund and we produce new music radio shows for British Airways in-flight entertainment system. We are funded by Arts Council England and our offices are in the Musicians’ Union in Oval, London.

In addition, we produce and sell petrochemicals for industrial use worldwide. Our Projects & Technology business is responsible for delivering new development projects and the research and development that leads to innovative and low-cost investments for the future. Our strategy seeks to reinforce our position as a leader in the oil and gas industry while helping to meet global energy demand in a responsible way. Safety and environmental and social responsibility are at the heart of our activities. Our commitment to technology and innovation continues to be at the core of our strategy.
